Case Study
Female 28 years old. Single career woman. No children. Smoker. Drinks (4 days per week) Medications OCP (12 years) Presenting symptoms: sore breasts. Sinusitis.
Dysmenorrhea, sugar cravings.
The client has mixed colour eyes, indicating that there are inherited traits from lymphatic (blue) and hematogenic (brown) eye types. There will be influences from the lymphatic and hematogenic eye types. The primary nurture points in the mixed eye are the liver, gall bladder, digestion, and pancreas. The Integrated Iridology Textbook, Miller, Toni, Chp 5 Mixed eye type, pg. 60. The structural type indicated for this client is anxiety tetanic which highlights the nervous system and the gastro-intestinal tract as being primary nurture points. The individual diathesis of this client’s iris is Dyscratic. The further nurture points here are elimination and the immune system. There can be a tendency to ‘hyper function’ of all organs. There can be a tendency to nervous stomach, muscle tension, spinal problems, and depletion of minerals in the body overall due to continued nervous system tension. (Toni Miller) I would ask the client about their lifestyle and whether they rely on stimulants and sugary foods to ‘keep going’ there can be a tendency to develop problems with the liver, gall bladder, and immune system if the client doesn’t eat correctly, for example, eating too many foods high in saturated fats, salt, preservatives, chemicals, sugary, or refined foods. The other issue is to take enough rest and relaxation.
Dietary recommendations are; ‘eat plenty of leafy greens, fresh fruits, wholegrains, and legumes. Eat foods rich in vitamin B or take a B complex. Focus on foods containing magnesium, calcium and phosphate to support the nervous system and address any twitches cramps, or insomnia if present.’ I would ask the client about any anxiety in their life and what their work and home life balance is like and recommend meditation and yoga as a way of relaxing. The Integrated Iridology Textbook, Miller, Toni, Chp 5 Anxiety Tetanic, pg. 78, Dyscratic Diathesis, Chp. 5 pg. 106.
The right pupil has superior lateral, and inferior medial flattening very slightly. The left pupil appears more rounded. The first could indicate frustration with short term memory, and the second, slight tonal weakness of reproductive and urogenital organs. The collarete is thickened with orange pigment. It has a central pupil heterochromia with orange pigment. ‘all heterochromia demonstrate inhibited digestion and absorption by the organ producing the colour.’ In this case the orange colour represents the pancreas. The Integrated Iridology Textbook, Miller, Toni, Chp. 16 Central heterochromia, pg.216.There is more thickness in the right eye collarete. In the stomach zone there is orange to red pigment. This pigmentation indicates a pancreatic influence on the constitution, there could be an issue with pancreatic enzymes and the client’s sugar cravings could indicate active pathology here. I’d ask the client about any family history of diabetes. Just as important as pancreatic functioning is for the client, there will be a need to eat foods which complement the digestive system. The Integrated Iridology Textbook, Miller, Toni, Chp. 21, Pupil, collarete, ruff relationship, pg. 288.
There is languid shading in the ciliary in the left eye in the foot, knee, and hip area. It is good to check blood pressure and circulation, and ask about varicose veins, or spider veins. These things are predominantly nurture points for hematogenic types (brown eyes) and the circulatory system is highlighted in this client’s iris as a nurture point due to the mixed colour of the iris. Coldness in hands and feet could also indicate issues with peripheral circulation and so I would ask the client if this is experienced. The Integrated Iridology Textbook, Miller, Toni, Chp. 5, Mixed type eye, pg. 60
The sinuses in the humoral zone across the collarete also show affliction. Co-ordination and anxiety zones (mid cortex and mesencephalon regions of the brain) in the upper quadrant show a brown spot. I would ask the client about any further issues with balance, anxiety, and coordination. The spine, urinary bladder, and ovaries, have brown shading. The fundus and cecum, and the liver, gall bladder, duodenum, and bile duct, all have red brown pigmentation. Brown pigmentation in integrated iridology displays a liver influence on digestion which supports above findings of the necessity to eat well. In the ciliary zone in the right eye brown spots occur in the liver, duodenum, and pancreas zones. There is a brown spot near the upper right breast.
The client has experienced breast tenderness. I would ask the client about symptoms associated with this including types of lumps and how many, and whether the client has seen a qualified health care practitioner about this. I would recommend they see a health care practitioner with any concerns. The Integrated Iridology Textbook, Miller, Toni, Chp 2, Iris assessment, zones of the iris, pg. 24-27
There are contraction furrows, showing possible anxiety, and a scurf ring present in the outer edge of the iris indicating a need for increased oxygenation and circulation. The sclera shows some light yellow shading medially near the tear ducts and laterally in the left eye further indicating a liver influence on the constitution. Further advice here is to eat foods which don’t overburden the liver due to this pathology and if detoxifying do it slowly so as to not cause too much strain on the liver or lymphatic system. The ‘Dyscratic’ diathesis of the client does generally indicate; disturbances within the connective tissue, blood, and lymph fluid.’ (Toni Miller) There can be digestive disturbances causing poor immunity and likely increase of allergic reactions. I would ask the client about any allergies here. There can be a buildup of toxins in the blood and lymph, and spleen and kidneys can be under pressure. The liver and gall bladder can also be under strain. The pancreas can under function with a predisposition towards diabetes more likely in this diathesis. Due to slower movement of circulation and lymph, it’s a good idea to be aware of any pathology developing abnormal and troublesome symptoms. If problems are detected early enough there is a greater chance of correcting the issues. The Integrated Iridology Textbook, Miller, Toni, Chp. 5 Dyscratic diathesis, pg. 106 Adding psyllium and oat bran to the diet to bulk the food moving through the intestines and drink 8 glasses of water each day. Try increasing iron, zinc, and calcium and B vitamins in the diet, and focus on a positive outlook by; ‘letting the past go and focusing on today.’ The Integrated Iridology Textbook, Miller, Toni, Chp. 5 Dyscratic diathesis, pg. 106
