Before this course, I didn’t understand how to read the Materia Medica, and that there are different types of prescribing for acute, chronic, and constitutional conditions, as well as injuries. Homeoprophylaxis is also something I feel I understand better now.
I knew the above existed, however this course is broader than the previous introductory course I had done. I remember reading a lot of the Organon, Kent, and Vithoulkas, along with class notes, and writing essays. This course has been a very practical resource in learning more about the foundations of Homeopathy.
In practical terms of recognising qualification requirements in Australia, and around the world I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the laws and differences in uses of homeopathy. In Australia and America for example, it’s not regulated and hasn’t met certain research standards to be recognised e.g. meta analysis, and double blind randomised trials with a certain number of participants to be classified as effective.
If Homeopathy was to be registered in Australia, then further evidence would be required, and The NHMRC would have to increase its study classifications to accept other types of evidence. Under AHPRA, things like testimonials wouldn’t be allowed and claims to cure would have to be monitored. Prior to changes after 2015, homeopathy study at Diploma level was recognised by private health funds.
Many other countries use homeopathy successfully and effectively. They encompass anecdotal and empirical evidence and can show data to convey good results. The popularity of Homeopathy around the world is growing, people can learn it, it’s effective, and it’s improving the health and wellbeing of many communities including those that don’t have access to health care and medicines.
Overall, I understand a lot more about the history of homeopathy and how research affects what can be promoted as treatments for self limiting illnesses, or management of more serious illnesses. I see how homeopathy can work integratively with surgery recovery and other biomedical practices. I will definitely go on to enrol in homeopathic acute prescribing in the electives.

I think it’s the one recommended in the lecture at ‘Whole Health Now.Com’ however I couldn’t open it without a flash player so I found a video on YouTube. It’s great to see how homeopathy suits different communities around the world. It is also affordable, and can reach a lot of people in a short amount of time when most needed. There are also some other links I watched which are interesting. I think Homeopathy will continue to grow globally and see a rise in popularity in the future!

Gravitas: Wuhan Coronavirus: Did homeopathy cure Prince Charles?1.41 min
The comments were mixed in this video, but mostly in support of Homeopathy. The Media condemned reports of Prince Charles being cured by Homeopathy, stating that Homeopathy doesn’t cure or treat Coronavirus. This is an example of Media bias. It’s not clear whether Prince Charles even stated that this is what had cured him. What is known is that he is a supporter of Homeopathic treatment.
Homeopathy can prevent coronavirus says Ayush ministry
In India, where Coronavirus was very prevalent, the Ayush Homeopathic Ministry released information on management of the virus. It is in Indian so it is hard to follow, however there is reference to remedies in English. The Dr’s in India are more open to Homeopathy as it is an accepted practice in this country.
