Homeopathy Week 10

Tutorial Activity:
- Investigate the homeopathic services available in your geographical area and construct a list of practitioners available you could refer someone to, together with any areas of speciality or details that would lead to you recommending that homeopath.
WEBSITE SEARCH
This was more frustrating than I thought it would be because there were a lot of natural therapy / health search engines to visit with limited information on practitioners. Some engines didn’t give an indication of how many practicing homeopaths are in Hobart because they also listed naturopaths and other therapists and businesses. They also didn’t mention all homeopaths.
I tried to look up the link from tutorial – homeopathyoz.org and there were no listings for Hobart practitioners there. I was surprised that I had to go to page 2 of google search to find the names of some practitioners. I vaguely already knew of a few that practice in Hobart.
In the end I called Kamal Homoeo Clinic to book an appointment but I couldn’t make it for this week. I decided that for this assignment I will analyse the case study from week 6.
Another homeopath was listed in Hobart but her website address was now in NSW. As stated before I found that health search engines didn’t give a lot of information and not all practitioners have websites to view their work.
I would recommend a client visit any homeopath listed below that met their needs. The Homeopath I resonated with the most was Melanie Creedy – Elements of Health (on page 2 of Google) I haven’t visited these homeopaths but can refer people to enquire based on the search results.
For interest sake, below are the list of results that appeared in order for my search ‘Homeopaths in Hobart Tasmania’. I think finding a practitioner is ‘word of mouth’ and advertising, more so than a blind search online.
SEARCH RESULTS
- Health share pages – no homeopaths
- RC Homeopathy – is in NSW now – an informative website
- Kamal Homeoclinic – website link
- Goulds natural medicine – no homeopaths
- Mark Hudson – Naturopath I think

- New Clients – Sandy Bay Holistic Veterinary Centre, Sandy
I’ve just documented the above to illustrate how frustrating I found it to find a practitioner if you don’t know of one. Natural Health Pages is probably the best as it searches in your area. I would recommend choosing a practitioner you can relate to well and who suits your individual needs. Different practitioners bring varied diverse strengths to their practices.
End 2nd page
Here are the ones that I followed up:
- Melanie Creedy – Elements of Health https://www.elementsofhealth.com.au/women-children/
There were so many good reviews – 15 more great reviews after these!! This Homeopath was on the 2nd page of Google. Her website is really informative. She doesn’t list the cost of consultations, however has an enquiry page. She has remedies available online too.
- Melanie has been a part of my life for many years now and she continues to be such a wonderful and steady support for myself and for my family as we navigate our way through life.
- Melanie has always been able to provide the perfect remedy for us. She is wonderfully intuitive and has such an incredible knowledge of homeopathy, flower essences and of human nature. She never ceases to amaze me with her ability to get to the bottom of whatever it is that is causing the imbalance, and will always choose the perfect remedy to align us back into the flow of life.
- Her remedies keep my children healthy and well balanced as they continue to grow and develop, and they continue to support me on my own personal journey as a woman and as a wife and mother. I am so grateful for having this gorgeous woman’s guidance, understanding and support in my life – Melanie thank you so much!
- As a long time user of homeopathy, I had previously dealt with a homeopath who preferred to treat an illness when it occurred, rather than head it off at the pass, as it were. This year, I decided to try your Winter Prep and can confidently say it’s about the only winter I can remember where no-one had so much as even a sniffle. So I had a giggle when I read the line in your newsletter about winter depleting our supplies. For once, I thought to myself, “No, it hasn’t” and there’s only a few weeks to go. Thank you
- “I’m getting better and better with being able to really fight things with the remedies, its starting to become more instinctive than reading for the right one. I can’t tell you how happy I am that I don’t have to resort to over the counter medicines or prescription drugs for my kids, they do catch things but are able to fight them really well and recover much quicker.”
- – is still taking the remedies for his pain relating to his injuries and ops and it is so much better than traditional drugs and far more effective.”
- We have a little dog which is a cross between a pomeranian and a chihuahua, however you spell that! 🙂 Whenever she is a little under par, I give her a couple of Arnica 200c pills and she perks up immediately
- Kamal Homoeo Clinic – Kamaljeet Kaur

- Visit one of these homeopathic practitioners (or a homeopathic student practicing under supervision at one of Endeavour’s Wellnation clinics) and experience a homeopathic case taking. If you have a regular homeopath or have seen a homeopath before, have another consultation with your existing practitioner or a different one you can compare them to, with the benefit of your new understanding of homeopathy.
- You may also choose to take the homeopathic medicine they suggest if you wish to, though this is not required for this assessment. If you would not like to have a homeopathic consultation at this time, observe one of the provided recordings from earlier in this subject and try to consider the experience from the client’s perspective.
WEEK 6 CASE STUDY OBSERVATIONS
The case was very taken in a very therapeutic way, 👍 seeing a counsellor, or psychologist, who is also looking for clues to constitutional, fundamental, and acute presentations that can be assisted with Homemopath.
Types of Questions the Homeopath asked:
- What brings you hers?
The client explains, discusses in her own words, facial expressions, body language, recollections, descriptions, feelings, experiences, overview.
The homeopath notes observations and encourages the clients to ‘unpack by nodding head in affirmation, and asking further open ended questions. The homeopath listened until the client finished talking (approx 4 minutes).
- Picking up on what the client emphasised, ‘I like being at work, I like being busy’ he asked, so tell me about your work?
- What are your hours?
- Do you take your work home?
- What is your sleep pattern?
- Do you dream?
The client freely discussed all of this for about 4 minutes, and during that time went back to other things initially discussed or bought up new things to explore.
- Tell me, when was the last time you felt normal?
- So how long after the baby was born?
- So tell me about the pregnancy and months afterwards?
Client talked for around 3 minutes. Some of the things that came up was feeling pulled in all directions, by work, new family, marriage, friends, social events, and had been feeling low in energy and generally unwell for the last 4 months.
- Homeopath asked, so tell me more about that?
- We’ve talked about your schedule and commitments, and how you’re feeling now. Can you tell me more about the past?
- What are some of the things you miss?
- What do you like doing for yourself?
The client talks freely for 2-3 minutes and the Homeopath gives feedback. ‘Everything is in place for you, except time for you. Stress management, what are the creative ways that you deal with that?
- Looking at the underlying causes for feeling worn down, lets take a broader perspective
- What are your likes?
- What are your dislikes?
- What are your goals?
- What are your inspirations / aspirations
Client talks freely for 3 minutes and brings up some really good points for her case. She can identify answers to the above questions, and this help her reflect on whether her current life is meeting those markers, where she may be out of balance, and where she may be headed in resolving her dilemmas. Her goals are clearly defined and for the most part she is making progress towards them. The homeopath the asks about her health history.
- Give me some health history, dramas, hospitalisations?
- Show me your tongue
- Tell me some other stuff. Do you have any food cravings (forget everything you know about nutrition)?
- Any foods you hate?
- Are you a thirsty person?
- Do you drink a lot of water
The client answers all of the questions while the homeopath records her answers. He decides to go back to the client’s statement about when she started feeling unwell four months ago and follow up on that.
- So what happened 4 months ago?
- Who’s your daughter to stay with when you’re at work?
- What else is pulling at your attention
- Who else?
The client describes the issues she talked about at the start of the consultation, along with wanting to be at home more for her daughter, and needing to achieve goals at work, so that she follows her plan to be home more for her in a few years, she states ‘it’s enough on my plate’. The homeopath offers an affirmation, it is enough, I agree. He asks another question.
- Can you tell me a bit more about that?
- When was your last holiday?
- Sometimes doctors say things and you can take them or leave them, but they said postnatal depression, is that very far off the mark or?
The client answered these in succession, and spoke freely for about 3 minutes while the homeopath listens and affirms. He recommends a technique – frame the situation, compartmentalise it in a constructive way. Together they work out four things that are affecting her, and it may not be so much postnatal depression of unknown causes but something they’ve narrowed down to three initial things.
- Low libido
- Anger
- Uti’s
- Not sleeping
Further questions are:
- Tell me about your anger, how does it manifest, what’s your style?
- Tell me about Mum, does it work well for you having her look after your daughter while you’re at work
Client describes her relationship with her mum. She gives some detail, but the homeopath would like to know more about how that is shaping her decision making now, he asks:
- How do you think that came about?
- What are your preconceived ideas?
- What are your experiences?
- What are your challenges and assumptions about this experience
The client addresses all of these questions, and it looks a bit like a weight is off her shoulders visibly to explore that. Along with a sounding board to understand herself and her mum better. It is a way to resolve a current energetic dilemma through discussion and acceptance. The homeopath moves on to another area of enquiry.
- Tell me about you at a party?
- Are there people that know you very well?
- Any times in life where you completely hit a standstill and run out of energy?
- Any throat problems?
- Any fears?
The client talks about a whole new area of her life for about 4 minutes. This helps the homeopath get to know her more as a person. She did have a bad relationship in her late teens, which affected her autonomy, and she felt relieved when she regained it, and was able to set goals. He affirms the things she has stated previously; You want to achieve more that your mum and dad did, you don’t want to be in a bad relationship again, you want to achieve your goals, you want to be able to keep your friendships and social connections alive and well, they’re important to your well-being. He then asks:
- Is there anything else that’s pushing you along?
- Are you feeling okay at the moment?
- Tell me more about your symptoms of feeling unwell, are there any patterns, any time of the day, anything that makes you better or worse?
- Menstruation, what’s happening?
- How long have you been on the pill?
- When did you restart the pill / or when are you planning to restart if you are?
- Any digestive problems
The client answers the question in succession for about 4 minutes. She states she has been on the pill since she was a teenager. the homeopath states, it sounds like it is important to you in helping you achieve your goals and family planning, it is a long time to be on the pill, and you don’t necessarily need to come off it, just be aware that this can be one contributor to how you’re feeling and you can look at various options as you go along, but you’re a healthy person overall and want to address not feeling well over the last 4 months. You said things have been very busy in that time and it is causing stress. He then says: Thank you for coming to see me, I’ll have a look at what we’ve talked about and find a remedy for you. things we will need to look at, at some point, is the pill. You may organise yourself in a new way when you take it again, and you may feel better, which is fine. We can wait and see how things go.
ENDEAVOUR COLLEGE ANALYSIS OF THE CASE
The client was a ‘Sepia Client’ the characteristics of Sepia, constitutionally did fit. The homeopathic case taking was interesting and encouraged the client to feel comfortable in the environment and in talking to the practitioner at the clinic.
