Manual Therapies (my first week)!

How has the raised awareness of health and personal well-being caused a renewed interest in massage?
In the 20th century, massage became more widely associated with health spas similar to those in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, along with interest in diet, nutrition, fasting, and other practices (Endeavour Lecture1).
The multicultural diversity in Australia has brought with it a lot of manual therapies including Bowen, Osteopathy, Reflexology, TCM Acupressure, Shiatsu, and more. Health and personal well-being choices are varied and there are options away from conventional or allopathic medicine. (Lecture 1) (Endeavour Lecture).
The relative low cost of many manual therapies compared to medical treatments can make them accessible to many. Diversity along with business opportunities for practitioners and therapists who promote education about well-being, contribute to manual therapies success in society (Endeavour Lecture).
How has physical/manual medicine (such as massage, chiropractic, physiotherapy, osteopathy) affected your life? Write any positive and negative experiences you have had with different treatment methods.
I have had very good experiences with Acupuncture whereby I felt ‘stuck’ energies shift from my body. I remember feeling more flow emotionally and having new insights mentally that were positive.
Other manual therapies I have experienced are massage, Bowen therapy, reiki, and a treatment involving electrical polarity / synergy balancing in the body.
